This martingale style leash and collar in one, is designed for exercise, training, show and field. It is available in either a 6 foot long, 1/2 inch diameter leash with a 15½" Neck Band (neck sizes 16" to 30") for adult dogs OR a 7½" Neck Band (neck sizes 10" to 38") for smaller dogs or puppies.
These pictures show the English Slip lead ½ hitch method. I usually put a knot in the leash just above the brown leather piece as that tends to slid down too far and the leash slips under the dog’s belly. With the knot added the loop is smaller. Ideally you just want the leash to be just behind the front legs. Dogs can still pull a little, but you do get some control and there is no pain to the dog like a choke or pinch collar. Most field trailers use this technique but they do let the leash slip under the dog’s girth and that does get your dogs attention- but you don’t want to cause any harm to the sensitive organs down there.
